It's doughnut season! There's so many types and everyone has their favorites (mines basic jelly!) My oldest actually dislikes fried doughnuts, and only likes the ones with a cake texture. These chocolate and vanilla donuts in the donut machine are so good, you can't help but love them!
What's ingredients are in the recipes?
- All-purpose flour
- Sugar
- Light brown sugar
- Cocoa powder (for the chocolate version)
- Baking powder
- Salt
- Eggs
- Oil
- Unsweetened almond milk - or any other milk, dairy or non-dairy
- Vanilla extract
How to make chocolate and vanilla donuts in the donut machine
Start by plugging in your donut machine and greasing it with non-stick cooking spray. Mix together the flour, sugar, brown sugar, cocoa powder (for chocolate), baking powder, salt, eggs, oil, milk, and vanilla extract in a large bowl. The batter should be on the thicker side. For best results, transfer the donut batter to a piping bag. Pipe into the donut maker into the donut cavity and close the lid. When the donuts are ready, transfer to a cooling rack.
Decorating the donuts
One of my favorite decorating hacks is with a tub of frosting! Melt some on a microwave safe bowl in the microwave for 30 seconds until it becomes a liquid consistency. Dip the donuts in the melted frosting and immediately top with sprinkles of your choice. Return to the cooling rack to harden.
Storing
Store ready made unfrosted donuts in a freezer safe bag or airtight container for up to 3 months. Decorated donuts can last on the counter in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
Vanilla Donut Machine Donuts

- ⅓ cup granulated sugar
- ⅓ cup light brown sugar
- 2 teaspoon baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs
- 4 tablespoon canola or vegetable oil
- ¾ c unsweetened almond milk or milk of your choice
- 1 ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Mix all the donut ingredients together.
- Transfer the batter to a piping bag and pipe into the greased donut cavitites.
- Follow the directions on your donut maker to bake.
Chocolate Donut Machine Donuts

- Follow the directions on your donut maker to bake.
