Winter has just gotten better with this viral trend I've been seeing pop up all over my for you page. I'm talking about this creamy hot chocolate with the viral torched marshmallow. It's essentially cocoa (and here I'm sharing this rich, creamy, and decadent version) with marshmallow fluff that's toasted with a blow torch. Who can say no to that? Even if you don't feel like dolloping on the fluff and torching it, the cocoa recipe on it's own is so incredibly good! Gather around friends, let's make something delicious...
What ingredients you will need:
- Milk of your choice- Whole milk is my go-to. You can even substitute for non-dairy milk
- Maple syrup
- Cocoa powder
- Cinnamon (optional)
- 72% dark chocolate
- Sea salt
- Marshmallow fluff
How to make creamy hot chocolate with the viral torched marshmallow:
Start by prepping the fluff. Pour the fluff into a pastry or Ziplock bag. Set aside. Combine the milk, maple syrup, cocoa powder, cinnamon (if using), dark chocolate and sea salt in a pot. Cook, stirring often over medium-low heat until combined and hot. Pour into 2 mugs. Snip the ends off of the bag and pipe marshmallow fluff around the rim and in the middle of the cocoa. Toast with a blow torch and enjoy immediately.
Storing and reheating
You can store homemade hot chocolate in an airtight glass jar in the fridge for 2-3 days. To reheat pour into a pot and mix well over medium-low flame until warmed through.

- ¼ cup cocoa powder
- ¼ teaspoon cinnamon optional
- 1 oz 72% chocolate
- pinch of sea salt
