It's January and my bones are cold! I love sitting down to work on my computer or run out to carpool with a cozy drink in hand. This honey citrus mint tea was also known on the Starbucks secret menu as "medicine ball tea" or "the cold buster." It's now on the permanent menu. It's "medicinal" benefits come from the ingredients. It helps sooth sore throats and provide comfort. It's a bit of a random concoction but the flavors work so well together, it's amazing. I love making my version at home. It's easy and oh so delicious!

Here's what you need:
- Lemonade- the vitamin C in the lemonade adds immune support. This drink does have a lot of sweetener, so if your watching your sugar intake, opt for a lower sugar or sugar free lemonade.
- Water- the water is warmed with the lemonade to create steam and of course the perfect base for the tea bags
- Honey- helps sooth a sore throat.
- Mint tea- contains antioxidants and autoinflammatory compounds that may help sooth a sore throat.
- Peach tea - (herbal tea) Adds antioxidants and vitamins with a sweet comforting flavor.
How to make honey citrus mint tea at home:
- Heat the lemonade and water in a pot and simmer for 5 minutes.
- Pour 2 tablespoon of honey into each glass. Divide the hot lemonade between the two glasses. Mix well until the honey is dissolved.
- Add 1 mint and 1 peach tea bag to each glass.
- Let the bags steep for 3-5 minutes then toss, or leave in while you sip.
optional add-ins:
Peppermint extract: one small drop of peppermint extract makes this honey citrus mint tea even more aromatic.
Lemon slice: Add a lemon slice for garnish for a little more sunshine.
