    'Tis the season to be...sick. Even if your one of the lucky ones not battling a dripping nose, I'm sure you know someone who is! These immunity bomb cubes with raw honey, turmeric, and ginger, are here to help boost your immune system and soothe your cold if you are sick.

    Ingredients for immunity bomb cubes with raw honey, turmeric, and ginger

    You will need:

    • Raw ginger: Raw ginger is full of spice and antioxidants. It helps boost the immune system as well as supporting the digestive system.
    • Fresh turmeric: I like to use fresh turmeric root because of it's more vibrant flavor and aroma. You can use dried if you can't find fresh. Turmeric contains powerful anti-inflammatory properties.
    • Fresh lemon juice: Lemon juice is a great way to add more vitamin C, which is well known to have positive impacts on our immune system's ability to fight off illness.
    • Raw honey: Raw honey adds a little sweetness. I prefer raw over processed honey because of it's superior health benefits.
    • Water or coconut water: You will need a little water to bring these cubes to life! If you prefer coconut water, use that instead for an extra boost of vitamin c!
    • Black pepper (optional!): It definitely adds a little spice so I left this as optional. The reason juice shots often have pepper added is because black pepper boosts nutrient absorption.

    How to make immunity bomb cubes with raw honey, turmeric, and ginger:

    Combine all the ingredients into a blender. Blend well. Strain over a measuring cup. Pour the strained liquid into an ice cube tray and freeze overnight.

    How to enjoy immunity bomb cubes with raw honey, turmeric, and ginger:

    There are 3 delicious ways to enjoy your immunity bomb!

    1. Place the cube in a glass and pour hot water over the cube. Once they melt, stir to combine and enjoy!
    2. Drink it as a shot! Simply strain the juice after blending and divide it up into small juice shot bottles, like these ones.
    3. Add it to a smoothie.

    Tips n' tricks

    • I found that weighing the turmeric and ginger with a kitchen scale was the easiest for me. Each piece weighed 5 grams. If you don't have one, you can estimate that a 1" piece of each will work for this recipe.
    • Keep in mind that the fresh turmeric will stain your ice cubes mold!
    • I used 2" ice cube mold that yielded 4 cubes.

    Ingredients Method

    Ingredients
      

    • 1 cup water or coconut water
    • 1" piece fresh turmeric or 1 teaspoon dried
    • 1" piece fresh ginger
    • 2 tablespoon raw honey
    • 4 lemons juiced
    • ¼ teaspoon black pepper optional but recommended

    Method
     

    1. For a frozen cube: Combine all the ingredients into a blender. Blend well. Strain over a measuring cup. Pour the strained liquid into an ice cube tray and freeze overnight.
    2. For a shot: Strain the juice after blending it and divide it into 2 oz shot glasses. Refrigerate for up to 5 days.
