Start by preheating the oven to 350F. Place the butter in a baking dish and melt it in the oven. (It can take anywhere from 5-10 minutes, depending on how cold the butter is etc.)
While the butter is melting, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Add the sugar and mix again.
Stir in the milk, vanilla extract, and lemon extract until the mixture is combined.
Pour the cobbler batter over the melted butter in the dish. Do not stir.
Dollop the lemon pie filling around the dish.
Bake for 45-55 minutes, until the cobbler is golden brown.
Let the cobbler set for a few minutes before garnishing with powdered sugar and serving.
