Cook Time 20 minutes
Servings: 12 skewers
Course: Appetizer

Ingredients

  • ½ lb ziti noodles
  • 1 ½ c ricotta cheese
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • ¼ c grated parmesan cheese
  • 2 c shredded mozzarella
  • ¾ c marinara sauce

Method

  1. Soak wooden skewers in water for at least 30 minutes. Preheat the oven to 425F.
  2. Start by cooking the pasta in salted boiling water until al dente. While the pasta is cooking, mix the ricotta cheese with garlic powder, salt, and ground black pepper.
  3. Once the pasta has reached al dente, strain it and set aside to cool. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper. Skewer the cooled pasta onto the skewers.
  4. Use a spoon to spread big spoons of the ricotta and spices mixture over the pasta skewers, then top with marinara sauce, parmesan cheese, and mozzarella cheese. Repeat until all the pasta is used up.
  5. Bake for 5-7 minutes, until the cheese is melted. Feel free to broil it for 30 seconds or so at this point if you would like to brown the cheese.
