Happy July 4th weekend! The secret to a good dish is often in the sauce. When debating what recipe to share for this holiday weekend, I thought 3 easy grilling sauces would be the most beneficial! Take what your already planning to make, and kick it up a notch. I've included recipes for a homemade burger secret sauce, a smokey BBQ sauce and truffle mayo.
What do these 3 easy grilling sauces go on?
- Secret burger sauce- Okay this one is in the name! It doesn't matter if your making a homemade beef patty or store-bought, this sauce will make it taste restaurant worthy.
- Smokey BBQ sauce- I'm sure you know that there are many ways to use a good batch of BBQ sauce. Personally, I prefer to make my own sauce, so I can control the sweetness level. Use it for chicken, hot dogs, or even for non grilling days to braise some meat.
- Truffle mayo- This sauce is perfect for dipping fries or smearing on your burger bun.
Secret burger sauce
The contents of this sauce are nothing revolutionary, but when they are combined, it's amazing!
Here's what's inside:
- Mayonnaise
- Ketchup
- Sweet pickle relish
- Sugar
- Vinegar
- Black pepper
Smoky BBQ Sauce
This is an old recipe of mine, I've been using for years. One of my favorite ways to use it is on chicken or to braise ribs in. It's got quite a few ingredients, but the taste is so good, it's worth it!
Ingredients:
- Brown sugar
- Molasses
- Ketchup
- red wine vinegar
- Dry mustard powder
- Cumin
- garlic powder
- paprika
- Salt and pepper
- Tomato sauce
- yellow mustard
- Worcestershire sauce
- liquid smoke
Truffle Aioli
Creamy and irresistible, you only need a few delicious things to make this one.
This is what you'll need:
- Mayonnaise
- White truffle olive oil
- Fresh lemon juice
- Black pepper
- Garlic
How to make the sauces:
Both the burger sauce and truffle aioli can simply be whisked together in a bowl. The BBQ sauce is better when its cooked for a few minutes on the stove-top. It helps thicken the sauce and meld the flavors.
Storing these 3 easy grilling sauces:
The sauces can be kept in the fridge for up to 2 weeks in an airtight container. I personally like to use squeeze bottles for easy access.
