Alabama Wings with White BBQ sauce

I like my chicken wings only two ways. Grilled or fried. This is one of my favorite recipes! The baking powder helps give the skin a crunchy texture and the sauce, is not your typical BBQ sauce. It seeps into the chicken and gives it a richness and burst of tang! They sure know how to BBQ down in Alabama!

Alabama Wings with White BBQ sauce

  • Dry rub:
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 2 tsp brown sugar
  • 1 ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • ¼ tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • ¼ tsp chili powder
  • ¼ tsp mustard powder
  • Salt and pepper
  • White BBQ sauce:
  • ½ c mayonnaise
  • ¼ c apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tbsp apple juice
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp honey
  • Dash of hot sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste

  1. Heat up your grill. Combine the dry rub ingredients in a bowl. Toss the wings in the rub. Next, whisk together the sauce. Grill the wings for 15-20 minutes on each side, until nicely charred. Serve with white BBQ sauce.
