Chanukah has come and gone and we’ve had our fair share of snow already (in my opinion!!) It’s been great and exhausting getting into routine. (Is it winter break yet?!) This is where the fantastic new sliced flavored cheeses from Natural and Kosher come in. I’m always looking for something easy to throw together for lunch after my work day ends at 3pm or a mid evening snack before dinner. I don’t like to take a lot of time preparing food for myself, but of course I want something tasty! These new cheeses pack this crazy delicious PUNCH of flavor in every single slice. There’s no need to add much more! This garlic and basil cheese got me thinking of pizza. (Not sure why…but it works!)
So…I created a simple, easy, quesadilla recipe that just requires a little bit of tomato sauce + the cheese! I paired it with a classic israeli pizza dipping sauce-rotev instead of the usual salsa you’ll find with a quesadilla. These are so cheesy and delicious make sure you double the recipe!
2 10″ tortilla wraps
1 tsp marinara sauce
6 slices Natural & Kosher garlic and basil cheese http://www.naturalandkosher.com/
1 tbsp butter
1. Melt butter in a skillet.
2. Meanwhile, spread marinara sauce over one tortilla wrap.
3. Place cheese slices on top of the marinara and place the second wrap over the cheese.
4. Transfer to the skillet and cook 2-3 minutes on each side, until cheese melts.
5. Serve with rotev dipping sauce.
Rotev dipping sauce:
1/4 c mayonnaise
3 tbsp tomato paste
2 tbsp water
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp cumin
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp sugar
Pinch of oregano, basil, parsley, and cayenne pepper
